this is another passtime I enjoy. It was a commission for a 32 ft Chris craft yacht. Size is 2 1/2 ft by 3 1/2 ft by 3 1/2 in deep. Carved in bass wood in excise on a ribbon motif done about six years ago.

Very nice carving! It's a question that I get asked a lot, and have a hard time answering because I never really keep track, but how long did it take you to do this piece? That is a lot of detail in the eagle that had to take a good chunk of time. Do you have any pics of work that you have done for yourself? If so, and you wouldn't mind posting them, I would love to see them.

It is really nice. My only critic would be the paint. not the paint job, the paint itself.  I think wood carvings should be left in the natural wood finish otherwise they can look like a casting and to plastic for my taste.

I agree James but this piece was to be in an extreme outdoor environment heat and salt water exposure
