If anyone has used this AFG hide paste sold by V.D., what do/did you think of it ? The picture shows a blue ribbon, and says it is staff preffered. Any opinions ?

I have used the AFG for a couple of years now and I like it. Dries with the mount. You can usually still taxi skin  2-3 days after you mount. I would not advise using it on earliners, and it was never intended for such. I use the KEY epoxy that VD sells (the skin type not the way too expensive "earliner" version) and I rarely ever have an ear drum.... If I do it is my fault for not correctly sizing the liner.

i actually bought several different types of hide paste 2 years ago.  i liked a few of them, but afg is the one i stayed with.  it has great hold, dries good with the skin, easy to apply.  again i wouldn't use it for ear liners.  i have used it on both DP and tanned hides with good results.

I bought a gallon of AFG a few weeks ago to do a test run with before I heard about the Dynamite #111.  It sounds like AFG will work very well also.  I still like to use some expoxy in key areas I don't want to pull like the lips, and under the antler burrs.  Thanks for the input guys.     Jack.

Yea they screw you on the 5 gallon buckets Van Dykes charges you a handling fee and so does UPS! I have them bring it to our state taxidermy show that way I can avoid some of the BS charges.

That is all I used is the AGF hide paste before I switched to the sherwin williams dynamite 111 & Joe Coombs dry hide paste combination. I still have 4 gallons out of a 5 gallon bucket just sitting there unused since I switched.

Guy's & gal's, I have never really felt like endorsing or persuading somebody to try something different. But the difference in the AGF compared to the 111 & hide paste combo is like the difference in a 1974 Ford Pinto compared to a 2007 Ford Excursion.

Thanks, Rich, I prefer a hide paste that gives me some time to go back and go over it.  I"ll have to give it a shot.
