« on: August 21, 2007, 08:05:30 PM »

The GSTA will be holding a one day, all inclusive whitetail series of seminars. On the list of things covered will be:

1. skinning, splitting, fleshing, and salting a cape for the tannery.
2. mounting a deer shoulder mount from start to finish.
3. finish work and painting a completed mount.
4. form alterations.

Date for the one day class will be September 22.
Location is the Brookview Volunteer Firehouse, East Brunswick, NJ.
Seminarians will be GSTA Pres. Dave Kerr and GSTA VP Paul Bacskoczky.

Price is $100 and includes lunch and GSTA dues. Current members will be credited 2008 dues.

For info contact Dave Kerr at rkerr1998@aol.com or call 1 973 670 7392.

Sorry for any confusion regarding the previous date. Simply mixed the dates up with something else.

I was wondering if there was going to be a seminar, as it was talked about at this years convention. Unfortunately I will be away on a hunting trip on this date. Is there going to be any more coming up and will members be notified by mail? I don't get to check this forum very often.
Thanks,

Hopefully, the answer is going to be yes, and that would be dependent on membership participation. We can pretty much set up what ever the members ask for as long as it is supported.

We will be looking into doing a two day hands on seminar for deer heads over the winter in all likelihood.

There's alot of other things that are going on that will need membership support but I'll cover them in the newsletter and then here as soon as I can get caught up with everything.

This definitely sounds like a good deal, and the price is right. Along with learning the basics for beginners, maybe the full timers my learn a trick or two. I'll be there.

I have to help Johnny B put a dent in some of that food I heard about.
