"Mounting your Memories"

« on: August 24, 2007, 11:01:11 AM »

I am opening to the public on Sept. 1.  I am curious to know what I should include with the contract they will be signing when they drop a head off to me.  ONLY SKULLS MOUNTS!!

Name, Address, contact #, Risk of cleaning, etc...

Should I request any money down since skulls mounting is not AS expensive as full taxidermy.

Any info is helpful!!

Thanks!

I would request a deposit. I would also include that the skull be picked up and final payment be made within x number of days of notification of completion.

Even if skulls dont cost much to do the time you put into one does. I learned this fast after not getting deposits on my skulls now I had to eat three this year. No more!!

Do you get to keep them legally if they DO NOT pick them up (with no deposit) and what about if they put a deposit down?

How much deposit down?Huh  Half should not be bad...right?

Thanks bubbas

I charge 100-125 for whitetails I get $50 down and if no deposit in 15 days skull is mine. If not picked up in 30 days after being called when done it is mine. Thats the way I do it you may want to check on the laws in your area.
This is the way we work it on all our mounted things so this year same on skulls.

Deposit up front or before work begins. I also request license, tag, and kill location for my records if it is a game animal. Smiley

Make sure they know if not picked up in number x of days after completion, skull will become your property and sold (if legal in your state). Getting stuck with work and no payment will hurt you.

sparkyf... All that is needed is the unit or county that the animal was taken in. If it was me I would not want to give away my hunting hot spots.  Grin
