Approach very carefully, inject acetone behind front leg, between ribs, into lung. Should br instant. If it begins to raise tail. Back off slowly until it calms down. then try again.

Many people have formulas that they use, but weather they work or not, I could'nt say.
If you let it clam down, and approach it clamly. It should go alright.
But I would keep the number for motel 8 handy.

If you have very many skunks, they make a trap that is a piece of plastic pipe. The skunk goes in, and can"t raise it's tail to spray. You can then carry it off and release or dispatch. I think they are about $40.00. You can get them from a trapper's supply.
I caught on a couple of years ago, and left it in the cage over night, and then went out the next morning, and shot it as it was sleeping. No spray. Good luck.

Here is a link to the page that has the trap.
http://www.buckeyetrap.com/trapping.htm
Click on traps, Then cage traps, then Spray proof skunk traps.

You could wear a poncho in case it sprays, then it might not really get on you lol

If You end up shooting the skunk make sure not to shoot it in the head. They will spray every time if you strike them in the central nervous system. I have had good luck shooting them behind the front shoulder. They still occasionally spray but not as likely if you shoot them in the head. You might try covering the cage with a cloth and then dunk the whole cage in a pond or barrel full of water. Good luck and remember to stand upwind
