tanning fleshing deer hides

New do the business and wanted some advice/coaching on fleshing deer hides with an electric flesher.
Any does and don'ts would be helpful.  Aslo the best way for a rookie to do own tanning.

Keep the blade on the flesher low and do not try to take a bunch off at once. then Practice Practice practice. eventually you will get things the way you like them.
 As for tanning starting out you will do a bunch of practice mounts. D.P is fast and easy.

Wear safety gloves, you will get cut and it will ruin your next few days.

Yes, Be sure to wear the gloves.  I have those yellow ones that (I think) are made with Kevlar.  You can look through your taxidermy
supply book to find them.  They have saved my fingers twice this year.  Personally, I don't get bit much shaving the hide but rather
when I am moving a larger hide around the table to reposition it.  Sometimes you are concentrating on moving the hide and then you
move your hand to the wrong place.  Believe me, don't take the risk.  Gloves are easy to replace but finger nails, finger tips, cut tendons,
on the other hand.........
