Smiley Thanks wingman, for another great tip. I believe, I am a better taxidermist because of you, and others on this post.
As for skip. Why in the world would not want to do this for your customers? Not that i have anything against competitions. But if it wasn't for our (your) customers were would we all be? These people are paying our bills are they not? "These" customers give us the ability to follow our passion "and' get pay for it. Maybe i am old fashioned, but where i come from, the customer comes first and is always right.

I hear and agree with everything you folks are saying.  I am glad to hear that you want to do your very best for the customers because that creates a positive for our industry. I too strive for high quality work.

What I hope is that you are compensating yourself properly and fairly for the service that you are providing.  It's like Bon said,  these are our customers, they pay our bills, they allow us to follow our passion so why not give them what they want.  I am all for that.  A  happy customer is a returning customer with friends in tow.

At the same time, remember, we have bills to pay and passions to follow and neither of which come cheap. I just hope that you are charging for this added time and labor for anything you do special.  If you are not, you are hurting yourself and the industry. Do you charge extra for having to sew a wing back on or repairing broken bones because it takes you longer to complete your assignment?  I hope you do because I know a lot of successful taxidermist who do this very thing. How is adding lamellae, nasal post or anything extra that is not in your base price any different?  When is the last time you went to a store and bought a top of the line product for bargen store prices?  If you did see something like that the first thing that would be going through your mind is, "What is wrong with it?  Why is this so cheap?"

With that said, I would like to reiterate that I am not harping on anybody about anything.  It's not my place to pass judgment on anybody.  I admire and respect the knowledge that Wingman is sharing with us along with everybody else.  Making ourselves better taxidermist is never a bad thing.  Putting himself out their in front of others the way he does on a weekly basis is not easy and I do not want to make it worse.  I tip my hat to you wingman and I look forward to your ideas, Thank you!  I am looking forward to your feather curling article.  I have done it several times, but they always go back to the way they were.

Now that I have just put a big red Bulls Eye on my chest, I wish you all the best!
