velvet antlers

Hello! I was wondering if you all charge extra for velvet antlers on a shoulder mount? Im thinking there would be an extra cost since u gotta get them freeze dried, or buy the materials to inject them. So im wondering how much  extra.   It would be great if i could get any info

yes, I charge extra. How much depends on several factors. The state of the velvet, condition, and size. as well as method of preservation

well if it was a early rack and was filled wit blood then i would probably get them freeze dried. but if its a later velvet rack thats hard inside then i dont think that would need to be freeze dried, just preserved wit some type of preservative. so how much extra would u charge extra for each of the above situations??

actually I prefer the opposite. Soft horn is easy to find the veins, punch a tiny hole in the tip if each tine, and inject Velvet tan in the veins until it forces the blood out, and you have the tan comming out the holes.
   Hard horn it is almost imposable to get the tan to go through the veins. you usually have to paint or dip them in the tan. and hang to dry. although I have never had a set spoil using that method. it often is a rather fragrant process. and I have spent days looking for the trash can one of the kids threw a dirty diaper in. Only to realize it was the antlers.  It sometimes takes months for the odor to disappear completely.

ok, injecting the soft racks or painting the tan on the harder velvet racks, just like u suggested, how much extra should be charged?
