this is the toughest mount to do cause you cant hide all of the extra skin - this method capitalizes on cased skinned animals since the legs are already opened up - i have marked where the slots will be cut

another view of slot - get something to slide back feet on and start sewing them back up

measure how far you need to sew up feet - you want just enough to go around elbow

slide feet on form - you may have to trim toes of form to get skin to fit on

bottom picture has been sprayed with water mist - puts everything into quick perspective and gives a truer drying picture

Wow! That was great. I've been wanting to mount a coyote like that for myself, but howling. Just gotta wait for prime hide season now. The new 223 is sighted in and ready! Thanks again for the series!

Just one question, Why open up the relief slots that much just to fill them back with clay??

pictures are deceptive - not as much clay in there as looks - you have a ton of skin and it will barely fit in there the way it is with the wide relief cuts - try it with smaller ones and you will see what i mean - clay or glue also locks them in place

Good Job Terry,
I would like to add that if you take the bottom plate off any jig-saw and make your relief cuts with that it works great, depth of blade is what you'll need and the width of blade will do you just right also.
