my 2 cents werth, love the bird and the anatomy of it, but the bill is painted a little wrong, the paint on the feet look too glossy painted, the nuckles look too airbrushed and the feet look a little shrunk. Not trying to pick it apart, but its a few thing to look at and into on your next one.

Rich, I wasn't looking for a critique on the bird...just thought I'd show some habitat.

Even though that was just 6 months ago I would agree...the river rocks don't help the piece.
And the observations Rich made concerning the feet and bill are right on....it's amazing what you can accomplish in just a few short months. Now I paint my bills with oil, feet are pulled and injected with my own mixture and matte finish goes over most paint to give the needed "flat" look. I had all but forgotten about this post...It's important to go back and see the progress we make as we strive to be better at the art!!
