I found my char pictures from September 2001. These are from northern Hudson Bay on South Hampton Island. Incredible color and incredible fight.

Thanks. These fish were awesome, and what fighters. They run up the rivers and into the lakes to spawn, then return to the ocean to grow some more. When we fished for them, there was this big red blur out on the lake where the spawning was taking place. I thought it would be interesting to see with scuba gear. We were caribou hunting on South Hampton Island in northern Hudson Bay with E & E Outfitters. The island is the size of Switzerland with one town, Coral Harbour, on it. A subsistence based community. We had great Inuit guides, and since this is an island, the caribou do not migrate, so you travel over vast expanses on ATV, and then stalk. We did not see or shoot any really big caribou, but it was like we had the whole world to ourselves. We even saw a polar bear in the middle of the island which suprised our guides. I shot a small bull, and then passed on 13 bulls on our next to last day. The next day was pea soup fog. By the way, those char are great to eat.
