Very nice Josh - thanks for sharing. It's amazing to see the energy level of some folks on here that not only have the talent to do something like this, but take the time to actually do it. It's also nice to see another fish guy that uses a lot of hand brushing techniques vs. being so hung up on which air brush to use. I've always said those finer details don't necessarily need to be done with a $300 air brush and now you've proven my point! Awesome job!

i personally would like to thank josh for this topic it is always great to see what other people are using these days,i do quite a few fish these last years and i still struggle when it comes to painting,just not my strong area,

Wow Josh that fish looked great. I never new that a brush painted fish could look so good. Now I don't do a lot of fish but I might have to give it a try with a brush sometime. About how much time did you have in the pumkinseed. Thanks for taking the time to share your method. Tony

Wow I am surprised this generated as much interest as it did!

As for the time I have invested in it.
Its so hard to say. I worked on it over the course of 2 days on and off.
I could do it in an evening if i sat still
I would say 3-4 hours total in painting and finishing maybe less. A lot of that is drying time.

Thats probably more then Many take on a fish like that.
But I am a bit of a slow poke I listen to music sit at my desk and zone out and relax as a paint.
I do a lot of back and forth between reference and always have many projects going at the same time.

Josh...I've always thought that a pumpkinseed was one of THE most difficult fish to "pull off" convincingly. Really nice job. Good of you to invest the time to share.

What a web sight, the videos on casting the crappie were something else as was the painting, it is aw some. I spent 20 minutes watching your videos and I feel like I have been in a class room all day. What a guy can learn from people like your self. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
