how much of the foam do you have to carve out to use eppley
buttless earliners?

I don't usually use ear liners, but you would treat them as if they were the actual ear cartilage. I was taught to carve out an area smaller than a golf ball. Just enough so that the clay used for the ear butt muscles will have a better surface to stick to.
