Welcome to year 2 week 4 from Hinsdale New Hampshire!. I sure do hope every one is doing great and having a good fall so far! Were coming into our busy season as taxidermist and it get hecktic some times just remember to get deposits and keep the hunting stories to a minimum. This week I though I would start with a few pictures of Fish heads after all were fish heads right!
Week #3 of the second year was great and lots of truly tremendous works of art! I love to see new folks show up and show there stuff and it is a gift always to have the faithful each week show their talent too!!

From beginner's to the best in the world we all join in every week in a critique free and hassle free string with nothing more then great artist and inspiring fish taxidermist and carves get together to share with one another their praise and inspiration of good will and friendship to one another.
So with out further ado lets get  week #4 under way.

I want to start the week with a few fish heads!  So here we go and here is to a great week #4 and a great new year! Enjoy!
My Best!
Your friend

I caught this Chum in the Satsop river here in Washington state. He was about
16 lbs and in the life stage that I like the most in this species. by this stage
they usually have quite a few scars from fighting with other males and from the
long journey to the spawning grounds. I study them quite a bit and their colors
will change right before your eyes. Very cool fish. I don't usually target them
but by late October into December the rivers I fish have a heavy run of Chums.
Hard at times not to catch them.
I made a replica out of this fish and the following pictures are from the
second time I've painted the replica. This is a customer piece. I had a
difficult time getting the right picture that best represents what the fish
looks like in person, so I thought I would post a few taken in different light
sources. I will also add a couple detail shots.
Over the months I have enjoyed seeing the continued advancement each
individual has achieved with their work. It has also been enjoyable to see what
Rick Krane and Gary Bruch have been able to achieve with their training
abilities. the work created by their students has been exceptional. I always
look forward to seeing more on "The Week in Fish Pictures". -Pete

WOW Pete! I have seen more chum salmon up close then most people, working at two of the largest chum producing hatcheries in North America. Your chum is Awesome and the most realistic one I have ever seen. Very, Very Nice! They are one of my favorite fish. I hope I can do one half that nice some day.
Thanks for sharing!

Really like the salmon Harum, chums are one of my personal favorite to paint. That ones nothing short of perfect.

Fin Flight- like the bass, looks really nice.Always enjoy seeing your work.

Gary- Your students about to beat you out! Great teaching.

Don't mean to spoil the pot, but all I have is a commercial/ wholesale piece.
Skin mount steelhead. Custom carved body( by me Roll Eyes ) so any blame can land on my shoulders lol
