I am just trying out my tumbler I biult and am playing with pullys right now to see what speeds I can do. I built it to fit a 55 gal and a 30 gal. for birds.I also did a search and came up with all kinds of speeds, My first question is someone have the VanDykes mower wheel tumbler how many RPM does that turn? Also 2nd question If I was to pick a speed to tumble mammals and birds what would be a good RPM to do both? Thanks for any help, oh yea. one more With a 30 gal. how many baffels and how many for a 55Gal.? I will be doing Deer, fox,a few bobcat ,coon, and then Pheasants, ducks and maybe a few turkeys. Thanks again....Tim

10 rpms, is a resonable speed. I only tumble turkeys for about 3 to 5 mins if that then finish with the blower. Deer and lifesize skins for about 5 mins are usually plenty dry to work with. I only use the tumbler when im pressed for time and need to get two thing done at once. I much prefer to blow dry skins by hand when time allows.
Hope it helps
