Have you tried really fine sand paper? I did this on accident with a craft project years ago. There are probably other methods but this was easy.

I don't know what its called, but it is used to "frost" glass and mirrors. You can find it at Lowe's or Home Depot. I was gonna apply it to a mirror then apply a Miller decal over it, but lost interest in trying to make my basement a honky tonk. Its in the mirror section though. Just a thought.

If you're using Plexiglas or Lexan, sandpaper will work but it tends to form patterns. Your BEST bet is to use a fine sand blasting medium with a small blasting unit.

I agree with George, blasting would give it a more natural appearance.

Try using a little acetone rubbed over the Plexiglas. This might fog it up slightly. However, don't apply a ton of it due to the fact that it will start melting the plastic.
Good luck!

Go to a craft store or you can check in lowes wal mart etc. There is a liquid etch you can paint on that will do the trick.
