For those who have gone to the Mountain Valley School of Taxidermy, is it true that you have enough time to complete 25 - 27 mounts? On the website it has this high number. If so, did you have enough time to complete these mounts without feeling rushed? Is it possible to complete this many in a 9 week course? Or did you complete the usual number of about 13?

I am trying to narrow down my list of school choices. Thank you, and please give me your honest opinion.

Id say that when your doing nothing but taxidermy for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, that it is possible to do 25 mounts in 9 weeks. Certainly not 25 lifesize deer, but a combo of birds, fish, gameheads and lifesize mounts.

Over the last four months, I've done a lot of research on this very topic.  Over  that period of time I've narrowed my schools down to two.  Montana Valley and Second Nature.  My opinion is that both schools have an outstanding reputation.  I don't think you can go wrong with either.  Give them a call shoot them an email.  Try to get to know the instructor a little bit and see which one your personality jibes with and go with that one.  After all you're going to be working very closely with these individuals and if your personalities don't match you'll have a harder time picking things up on them.

Just my opinion take it for what it's worth.
