I recently posted here of an incident I had and how Seminole dealt with it. I had sent a flesher blade to them for sharpening and when UPS brought the returned package to my studio, there was an empty box. The blade had come out of the packaging during shipment(bet it really sucked to be the UPS employee who got hold of it). My UPS driver filed a claim as soon as we found out of the loss. I contacted Seminole and they sent me a NEW blade right out, not even waiting for the UPS claim to be settled.

A couple of weeks ago I sent two blades to Seminole for sharpening. One of them was a blade that they had ground and when I opened the package at the shop, the blade fell out and ruined the edge. This was not the fault of anyone but me. I didn't put a note in the package when I shipped the blade that explained what had happened. I felt that it was just my responsibility to pay for the damage I had caused.

When I got my blades back, there was no charge for the damaged blade to be reground. It was noted on the invoice that the blade was un-used and damaged. I feel that the folks at Seminole went way above and beyond what was expected of them. I have used a couple of others places for blade grinding but have always got better results from Seminole.

I just want to post of such good customer treatment. Most of the posts we see are negative. This one is meant to be all positive.

Mrdux, I was checking out your website and came across a picture of your daughter Heather Miss KY 2005. Wow, with all due respect she is a very attractive young lady, and I am sure you are a very proud Pa. Looks very classy also, I must add.

Gunny, thanks for the compliments of my daughter. I must correct one thing, she was MRS. KY 2005. She is married to a great guy and they have a daughter who is 2yo and a son who is a month old. My son-in-law played basketball at Vanderbilt University then pro b'ball in Europe for 2 years. He is 6'9 and my daughter is 5'9. Needless to say we are hoping for TALL grandkids. When our granddaughter was born our pastor announced her birth and said that Pat Summitt at U TN was already recruiting her. I'm proud of both my kids and they support my taxidermy pursuits even though they both chose not to continue hunting or fishing after they became teens. Maybe I can have more influence on my grandkids.

Mrdux,
Try packaging your blades in cardboard and then putting into another box. That should solve the "lost blade" issue and then the other issue is just good ol' "be careful".
