This work was done using Michael P's  secret paint schedule.  Maybe MP can chime in and help out.  The visible white is mod podge that is still not dry.  It looks very realistic.

That picture is a deer rump, that was shot with a rifle .  The owner of the ranch had me recreate the wound and is going to have it put on a plaque in the guys office.  I just tanned, mounted the hide, and after it dryed, I used my knife, and dremmel to form a wound channel.  I than contacted MP and he filled me in on what he used for a simular job .  I will see if I can get him to help you.

Icky bleeding wounds are icky...but they do have their place I guess.  Has anyone thought of making a silicone/acrylic paint cast of the actual wound?  IF it's even somewhat close to fresh, and that is a big IF.  Might work better, look better, and be faster than some other ways.

I did a tutorial on a flesh wound a while back, but cannot find it. here are a few pics I have of the fihised product still in one of my photo files. The guy & his dog had killed this hog & he wanted it to look just like it did when it was freshly dead. I cannot find my A-Z pics, or the old link, but if you call me 979-966-9853 cell or 979-968-5023 studio I would gladly tell you exactly how I recreated it. It is actually a fairly simple tecnique that produces wonderful realistic results.

I'm sorry, but thats just gross. Why would anyone want that?
Might as well have the thing trying to pull an arrow out of it's shoulder.
I realize the customers pay the bills, and I guess we can't make em have any better taste.

I agree Bobbi..ick.  It does look blood shot Michael.  I can't smell at all...(nasal polyps)...but that looks so icky on that pig...I swear I can smell the stench.  As to why someone would want it Bobbi...I have no idea...but it is different...and nasty...so <shrug> at least I can find out how Michael does it if someone asks for it.  I already knew one way...thought of another...did recreate a blood drop in mid air once...but that pig looks great.  Tongue Undecided  Thanks for offering to tutor on the phone Michael.  You're a good guy...I don't care what some folks say.  Grin
