First with a bow

When you guys skin the back feet of a beaver do you split the pads?  I had a heck of a time getting them out so that was what I did.  Just didn't know if it was the right thing.

I was hoping I did it right.  Worked on them for about 2 hours and then finally took the chance and split the pads.  Didn't think there was another way to get it past, what I called the heal of the foot, other than splitting.  I did skin the feet down past the heal and then aplit from that point.  Should I split right from the start of the heal next time?  Thanks

i split on the inside section of pads - that way if your sewing job isnt that great it is still unseen when viewed - their feet definitley present a challenge

I usually start at the heal and split but the way you did it is fine. Most of the time the feet are flat on the ground anyway but it's a simple matter to putty and paint any seam that shows.
