Helicity--you know way more than I do about chemistry--thats obvious from some of your other posts. I was under the impression that peroxide breaks down fairly quickly doesn't it into plain ole water and oxygen. I'm just a backyard skull boiler so I only use the Wal-mart 3% with basic white hair coloring I get from the hairdresser. I have just washed it down the sink--been doing that for years and so far it hasn't hurt my septic system-- any that I can tell--also all my plumbing is cheap abs black plastic.

The peroxide breaks down into harmless water and oxygen. It breaks down faster if it has stuff to react with. I always pour it in the sink. I have a white sink anyway and I hear it fizzing in the pipes an trap as it chews on stuff. It certainly won't hurt anything.    Just don't get it on you. It stings like hell and you won't do it again after the first time. Smiley
