I actually kept this fish, as it didnt revive well. Can you believe I actually threw back...twice?

HAHA, Nothing wrong with keeping a few, and I will admit that I would have likely done the same thing.  Regardless of what others may say, you really cant save them all.  My personal best was just right at that size and it came from a lake in Canada on my fly rod.  Season was not in there so I had to throw mine back as well. Anyways, big hawg smallies definitely rate over longbeards for me.  Nice feesh!

Chad

Also, thanks again for all the compliments on that mount.  I really do appreciate them.

I think what I liked about the smallmouths was, we were in 12 ft of water, and could often see hawgs cruising by, and even ahead to our tubes. It took me awhile to get the feel, very rough rocks vs a very soft pick-up. We would catch over 100 fish between 2 or 3 guys, every time. Theyd run big too, if you got into some bigguns, theyd ALL be about the same size. We had about every color and pattern too, mine was kinda dark and not as much pattern as some of the beauties we caught. Chad, Ill try to open a new thread in the fish category and post some pics, so as not to take away from your thread here about your mount.
