No kidding here's the story,

My wife called me to say we had a potential client that had a deer head he wanted to bring by and have us take a look at it.  It was mounted "20 years ago" and wanted to know if we could "spruce it up".

I immediately began to berate my wife about how we don't do repair work, why did she encourage this guy, blahblahblah.

My wife listened patiently to me, then told me to shut up and listen....  "I told him we don't do repair work, but we could remount for him, and it would be the cost of a cape, plus the mount."

He said the mount just needed "a little touch upon the lip, and the nose painted".

Honey, we don't do repair work, I don't care how "little" work is needed..it always ends up being a nightmare we lose money on..blahblahblah.

Wife says, DEAR, I told him all that, but he dropped it off anyway, and after talking to him, and pointing out that there were TEETH sticking out of the old mount, we would have to remount it.

So, here is an honest to God picture of what someone thought we could "spuce up". And now we will be remounting it.
And a public apology for doubting my wife.

Now that is funny!!!  Maybe "spruce it up" means take it to the top of a tree and punt it.

It's nice to see that the field has come a great distance since the time when that monster was mounted.
