This has been talked about several times before.  PIT is accredited, but it's paid for???  Ask George, he knows the skinny.

any school can become accredited by paying a fee. It doesn't really mean anything.

We take lots of students on the GI Bill  and VOC-REHAB and theres never been an accreditation issue. First of all we had to complete a pile of paperwork including a curriculum review, then the VA representitive came and inspected our facility before issuing thier stamp of approval and certifying us "approved to accept students using VA and GI Bill benefits"
In most cases they make you  pay your tuition costs up front, then  reimburse you. They dont usually pay untill after you have completed school. Also, and i dont know why this is, they will pay 100 percent for some students and just a portion for others.
If you need info about using your VA benefits let me know. I can put you in touch with David Strong, the Director of Veterans education.

Bill, I think that's because it part of a "reeducation" policy of the VA.  They're simply paying for the person to get a "technical education" on some career skill and they demand results in order to reimburse the individual  I'm sort of glad they do it that way.  If a person is dedicated enough to apply himself, that's great, but if he's just looking for a free ticket to get some money off the VA, then he's SOL.

Your right George. The government really makes you adhere to strict guidelines or there would be people collecting monies for a product or service they never actually received. They always pay though, direct deposit without fail. Fortunnately there is no way to circumvent the regs and abuse the benefits system.
Now if only the welfare system  and immigration policies were just as stringent!!

Bill,

That would be great if you could give me that guys info.  i filled out the application for GI bill and plan on mailing it soon.  i am using my GI Bill because i don't have the $3500 to take the 4 week class.  if i have to pay for it up front i am F U C T.  I was planning on going to MTI but if a school is accredited and on the list of schools then the Air Force will pay the Tuition not the VA.  so if i can find a Taxi school on the list i wont even have to deal with the VA.  who are the bigger taxi schools?  i am going to make a list and see if any are covered under the TA (tuition assistant) program.

thanks for all the help

Sam
