Wow , shipped out trapper skins in August  i have gotten one back last week , poor communication with them ,i like  the finished skin ,but with that poor of a turnaround and communication i don't think i will use them any further . Why would i i not get all the skins back at once when they were all shipped together?? I thought Carolina was bad at turnaround

You got a good turn around from lonestar.  They have been overrun with business and some people have been waiting a year or more.  You should feel lucky you got yours back in that amount of time.  Im not saying anything against David or Lonestar, they produce an excellent tan.  They are just a bit behind.  Here are a few threads about it.

I have to agree with Travis. David is overrun on skins at no fault of his own. As he said in another post, he has been receiving truck loads of skins from the tannery that burned and referrals for sheep. He has had some of my skins longer than I would like too, but I have to try and understand what he is experiencing. If I receive more mounts than I anticipate there is absolutely nothing I can do about slow turnaround. It's not like he is out here asking for people to send him skins. I'm sure it would make him very happy if you never sent him anything ever again. I am sure that Aubry feels the same way about it.

Try when the truck stops and drops off skins that are thawed and turning green and you have to stop what you're doing to get right on those. It amazes me that some so called professionals would send a skin(s) without any prep or precautions. I have been at Lonestar when it has happened and you can smell the box at 5 paces. Amazing.

Yeah Greg that is just stupid for people to do that with no advance notice. David said that some folks out there simply turn the ears split everything and salt without fleshing.

Ain't it amazing that these same guys are taking in orders from paying customers. What the heck do you tell someone? I was too ignorant to do the proper prep work. Then there are the people that don't split tails or even try to get salt down in them and wonder why they slip. I have been to Lonstar many times and it's crazy.

Thanks Joe for trying us. I know it takes a long time to tutrn around orders and if you did truly like the tan, keep us in mind when we get a few more years under our belt and can get hides back faster. The reason for shipping the single item was more to help you understand that it is taking a long time, but you are going to get a nice finished hide back.

Again,
Thanks for giving me a shot. When we get some more trained personnel to move the hides through the shaving step faster, I am sure you will see our turnaround improve. I hired a secretary to answer phones three days a week so I can stay on the shaving machine. Down the road, I will improve the communications issues too.

Take care,
David

The one thing rest assured is that David would much rather have folks pissed at him for slow turn around rather than CRAPPY rushed work. I choose to stick patiently with David and get back top quality skins.
