Hi folks, I am experimenting with making splashes out of light covers by heating them up with a heat gun and stretching. I have had fair results but wonder how to improve a couple of things. First off how do you cut the covers into pieces without them breaking and cracking? The covers I found are the cracked ice and are very thin. Are these the right ones? Also, when stretching them, they seam to break off square with the ends rather than coming to a point. I remember someone covering this but could not find it in the archives. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

monty, you will never end up with splashes that look really nice.  They will look allright, but generic. The best way is to get some silicone rubber, pour it and spread it out, let cure, then mix some clear resin and pour  it when it is starting to kick.  Spread it around to the basic shape of the splash you want, let cure, and they make awesome splashes.
