Make a wash of any water base paint. A wash is an extremely diluted mixture. I use air brush paints & tempra.

I use the same as bill mentioned. I like the tempra paints the best. brush it on and dab it off with a wet cloth until you get a desired color.

I got mine from McKenzie. they come in 3 colors, Red, Brown and Black... Pretty god sized containers too. I thnk they will last forever. I use a teaspoon of powder to some water then mix... I mixed in a jelly jar, so I cut pu tthe lid on and shake it up.. What I didnt use, I just sealed it and will use later. I did find thogh that even after dry, if touched with something wet, it wil lighten and come off. So I used a semi gloss or matte sealer. Just one coat and it gave it a wettish look. Not wet but not dry either.

You can also use Lifetone water based paints, mix with water to the color intensity you like, and spray on with bottle.
