To all the contributing writers, taxidermists linking partners, and supply companies involved in the creation of www.hidetanning.net, we just hit our record one day high in unique visitor numbers.  Yesterday's count was 961 for a 24 hour period.

We have yet to come into the seasonal peak period for web surfing.  Our peak in visitor numbers last year saw three different days that produced visitor numbers in the 780s, but we just couldn't get over that 800 mark.

Our average per day for the last three weeks has been just a little over 500, with three of those days breaking the 700 mark.

The web traffic for this site is primarily generated by search engines, external links, such as linking partners, typical produces 6% of the daily traffic.

The greatest amount of yesterday's traffic for a single page on the World's Purdiest Taxidermists' Directory was at this address:

http://www.hidetanning.net/Taxidermists.html

That page had 78 visitors yesterday, and during past peak periods ran between 70-90+ per day.

This is the kind of stuff that happens when all of us computer illiterates team up together.  Makes me grin.

Cuzzin Piggy, next month marks the third birthday for the Skull Cleaning article.  The  daily average for that first month (Dec. '03) was 21.

That article does two peaks per year.  One peak is NOW, and the other is in the middle of the summer, but to a lesser degree.

The current average is 48 per day, and you did have 118 on our record day.  It is technologically possible for me to go through the logs a day at a time all the way back to day one, BUT............from memory, I remember seeing days in the past in which it almost broke one hundred.  So, from memory, the 118 would be a record for your article.

Now what is kewl, as that article dies down, your snake articles pick up, not quite as popular as the skull cleaning article, but what I would have to consider quite popular regardless.  All these articles are seasonly affected.  Part of that is also due to the fact that readerships die down in the summer months, regardless of media.
