Craft stores like Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc.  You should have no problem finding it.  Its a 1 to 1 mixture and is very "user friendly".  It can be easily tinted with Lifetone Laquers and cures completely overnight.
If you do multiple pours to get depth you will get better results.  Let each pour cure overnight.
If you're doing "mud" simply add a little peat moss to the mixed envirotex and you will have perfect mud.  Don't be afraid to sprinkle a little more peat over the top of it for an even more realistic look.

Good luck!

Thanks Paul! I'm glad I don't have to order it from a supply company, now I can save on shipping. The next time I go to Michaels I will pick some up.

Menards is quite resonable,I have used this product many times from a eight foot bar in a supper club to 8x10 pictures. I have a coffee table, the top is aprox. 4 feet long and 28 inches wide,it is about 3 inches thick and is solid california redwood the two legs are a split cedar stump. It is very heavy and has 18 coats on it,it is a beautiful table, also have a matching clock that is not quite as thick and has a bear painting on it that was actually hand done by an indian. This is a remarkable product. I have one warning though, don't use it on plywood.

Well guys, I went to Lowe's (closest place to me and we don't have a Menard's here) and I looked for the Envirotex. I ended up asking several employees, but none of them knew of this product. One of them did direct me to a similar product though. I have bought what I believe to be a generic version of Envirotex Tongue  It is called Famowood Glaze Coat, and the box says "Pour-On High Gloss Epoxy Coating"  It is even advertised on the box to be good for coating bar tables and furniture surfaces. Says also that one coating is as good as 60 coats of regular varnish. Do you think it will be a suitable alternative for Envirotex? I don't want to try it out until I get some ideas. Thanks again for everyone's help. Smiley

Nina:

How are you going to use it?  Please read the directions and be careful.  Wear gloves and do not get it on your skin.  Envirotex is very irritating on my hands.  Dummy me spread it on a large fish barehanded once, and my hands burned for hours.  Don't breath it.  You can exhale on it to remove air bubbles, but inhale away from it.  I now use a propane torch to remove air bubbles and smooth it out.

I would definately see if the product you have yellows first before using on your project. Yes, envirotex is irritatingto the hands and lungs so take precautions, but works really nice and no yellowing.

The Glaze Coat stuff I bought worked great. I just put it on my base last night (to coat a little creek and keep the river rocks in place) This morning when I checked it, it was crystal clear and dried perfectly with no bubbles. I will use it again. I was sure to use gloves and good ventilation, even though there really were no fumes. For future reference if anyone wants to try it, here is a page http://www.glazecoat.com/GlazeCoat.htm

Nina

Is this stuff & Envirotex used for creating water scenes, or are you using it for something else.  I'm new to the water scenes but would like to try a few ideas that I have.  If not, do you or anyone else have suggestions/preferences on the water & ice.

Thanks
