icicles using cotton and envirotex
«

I attempted to make some icicles using cotton and envirotex as someone had described earlier, but they did not drip and form well. Do you wait until the envirotex is nearly set before you pour? Any other tips on types of cotton balls or epoxy? Thanks

I've made them that way but I've actualy found several better ways to do it. Dane Bisel recently told me about casting carrots (yes, carrots) with silicone and then pouring the "icicles" with envirotex. The problem with Envirotex is its tendency to yellow with time. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I've recently started using Crystal Clear 220 from Smooth On. Great stuff! It has a work time of only 9 minutes which allows for easy tooling into almost anything you would like. The BEST PART---it will NEVER yellow. Get some Crystal Clear 220 and try the cotton trick for you icicles. I'm sur eit will work MUCH better for you.

Hey Paul where did you get the 220? Does Research or McKenzie carry it?

I ordered directly from the company however several distributors carry it just go to the Smooth On website and do a search for a dealer near you.
