What is the biggest snapping turtle anyone has ever freeze dried. Pics would be nice>

Dont, dont, and dont Lol i have seen three of them freeze dried and they were all ablout 50 pounds, and looked liked the biggest pieces of crap ever created. they can be freeze dried if they are first conventionally mounted and then freeze dried to reduce shrinkage if any. If you took a 50 pound snapper and removed the shell, you would still have about 40 pounds of water and tissue you would be locking in if you tried to freeze dry it that way. total garbage!!

Okay, Thanks for that info. I had an email from a guy who wanted to know if a really big snapper could be freeze dried. So I thought who better to ask than you guys on the forum. Who do you reccomend I refer him to. He is near the eastern shore of Va.?

I could do it if he is not in a hurry. I have two more ahead of him i am working on, and with all my other work iot would be at least 18 months
