After pulling a deer hide out of Krowtan, can I put another in, or is all the "tanning" used up?
Thanks for the heip.

I wouldnt chance it. Mix up a new batch. The cost of mixing up a new batch is cheaper than a replacement cape.

Thanks, I figured that may be the case, but couldn't find anything in the archives.

I know some have but I wouldn't. Just to save a couple of bucks - it's not worth the risk.

I've added a second fox hide to batch before a couple days later and didn't have any problems. Don't know about a deer cape though.

I have cut the Krowtann to half strength for deer capes. This is the regular formula. Now understand I shave the hides almost to the mounting point before I put them in it.

Have not had any problems with half strength.

I mix up a big batch of krowtann, then I put 5 or 6 capes in to it, I rotate them thru as they get done and add more.. Usually two cycles and then Ill toss it. Ive never had any problems with it.
I flesh, toss them in the tan, then after a couple of days I do my shaving, then back into the tan for a few more days then nuetralize. Works great for me.
