MIXING "ARTIFICIAL WATER" HELP
«

Can anyone tell me a easy way to figure resin to catalist mix. I have polytranspar water in a 32 oz can and a
tiny
botte of catalist that came with it. The directions say to mix by weight a ratio of 1 1/4 catalist to resin. if I am using a few ounces of resin how would I figure this out. I just dont want to end up with to little catalist and have a sticky surface but too much will warp it. Any help would be appreicated.

RJ, what am I gonna do with you? Here's the secret. Pick up the phone, call WASCO, and have them send you the Habitat Manual. They have a full page of recipes for making artificial water. It goes from drops of MEKP to milliliters of MEKP for quantities up to one gallon and an inch thick I THINK. The mind is a terrible thing to waste if I recall correctly. LOL

RJ Mixing catalyst with artificial water isn't too hard to do if you remember a couple simple rules.
1. the thicker you pour the less catalyst per ounce. in other words if you use 6 drops per ounce to pour 1/4 inch thick then use 12 drops per ounce to pour 1/8th in. thick.
2. never pour more than 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick at one time.
3. in temps over 78 degrees reduce the amount of catalyst by one-third.
4. in temps over 90 degrees use half as much catalyst
5. 1n temps below 60 degrees increase catalyst by 1/3
The only time you will get yourself in trouble is pouring too thick, too much catalyst with a thick pour or too little with a very thin pour.
in cases where the resin doesn't harden completely, place the poured piece in the sun for a couple of days.
