Where in the world can I find 100% cotton to use as a snow base(for fluff)?  I have searched every where I can think of and can't find it anywhere.

nibjones:

I don't know where you are located, but I get my cotton from the compress...that is a cotton warehouse where bales are compressed to a smaller size for shipping.  They are all across the Cotton Belt.  Each bale has a sample attached that is used for grading the fiber.  Once the bales are sold, the samples are discarded.  I don't know if they are white enough for habitat snow, since the cotton is ginned, but not bleached.  I use this cotton in taxidermy and as beetle bedding.

You can get 100 % cotton batting  at Hancock's Fabric - or any store that carries a lot of quilting supplies.
