Sportsman Show Display board
«
on:
March 22, 2008, 10:21:31 PM »
I'm going to have a booth at a local sportsmans show and i was looking for Ideas on a back wall that would be portable and stable enough to hang a couple shoulder mount deer. What kind of set ups do folks have and pictures would be great.
Thanks

For mine I just studded out and wall for whatever length your booth is. I screwed paneling to the wall. The I took slabs for a local sawmill and ran the down the sides at about 3 1/2 feet high and screwed them into fence posts out front. If you still worried about it falling over you can run 2x4's diaginal from the top of your wall down to the slabs. Also I used a 2x6 for the bottom of the wall just to make it alittle more sturdy. Hope you understand, if not Ill try to get a picture loaded. good luck

a nice false wall with tongue and grrove would look pretty nice too. frame out two sections run some tongue and groove acroos the back. have it in two pieces so you can handle it better, but when you do your set up you can put it together and it would match all up. something like that would look pretty nice.

I went a simple a light weight route.
Interior Paneling framed out with spruce 2X2 and cross framed with the 2X2s next used two large dorr hinges, you can knock the pins out of.
If they are together you carry them in and unfold them I also have a 2X2 angle iron I screw on the top to brace them in a V.
Takes two minutes to set it up.

Hey I just di a whitetail unlimited show last night.Try to get you some old barn siding about 60 inches tall and 20 inches wide stend it straight up and put a base on it.Hang your mounts on them dress them up with some grasses, put some shelves on them set birds or whatever you want on them.My display blew everyones out of the water. Also bring some sinder blocks to set on the base in the back so they dont fall over .I took 4 deer 1 turkey 2 pheasants 1 muley and a antelope,Get all of your buddies to help tear it down it only took me 10 minutes good luck jim

Its hard to judge. Somewhere around 15-20 people seemed really interested, but this time of year there isnt much for them to bring to you, but I guess Ill see when trout season starts and turkey season comes in.

Heres my display I use. Its 3 peices of plywood hinged. Folds together when not in use. Sets up quick. Covered with camo burlap. Does a good job.
