my guess is yes!    if you keep the head and ears out a little bit  i figure the duck is about the same size as the neck of a coon if not you can cut that stuff just a little .. you do have to paint those also . i use the bigger one all the time so i think you shoulnt have a problem use laquer paint also   mark c

Well Ive never had to paint any of the knotholes that Ive purchased from McKenzie's, they have all looked better than I would have been able to paint as well. You may be able to work a raccoon into the medium log with alterations but McKenzie does sell a head only through John Rinehart items RC-731, RC-733 and RC-735, that sells for $10.75 that is specifically made for the NW21 knothole... Just for thought there Samantha

As for the painting part I cant speak for the NW19 (large), but the medium and small I have used close to a dozen a piece for ducks etc. and they have always been finished.

Thanks showme.
The nw19 is the medium knothole according to my catalog?Huh (although the actual piece is larger than the other 2.)
Yes, i am buying one of those heads to use.
I bought 2 coons. 1 is, i guess, small to average sized and the other is small - half tailed, and slipping on its feet so i thought i might as well use them both, in some way,  with that panel.
I shall email for verification on the painting.
Thanks again.  Smiley

In case anyone else wonders - yes, there is plenty of room for the small coon head.
What I received is what I'd call base painted. Just needs a touch up.
