Fudgy is absolutely right. WASCO carries them and they're transparent. You can layer different colors along with the clear to get whatevery you're looking for. I've used carpet scraps and ferns covered by a clear acrylic sheet. The poured blues and greens on separate pours on top to get an appearance much like the one Samantha posted.

i know with scenery resin or clear casting resin (clear polyester resin) they sell transparent dyes next to where they sell the actuall stuff whether you buy it at a store like michaels or taxidermy supply. with envirotex i dont know if you could use the same stuff, may have to experiment in small batches with different paints and record how many drops of colorant /ounce till you get whatever results you are wanting to achieve.

I didn't have the dyes that they are talking about and wanted to make some algea/seaweed yesterday so I tried a little sample before I left. I added some of the lifetone habitat dye and and light brown skin dye. I wasn't sure if there would be a negative reaction with it setting up. It looked great so now I just need to ge to the shop and see if it worked. I will post the results later.
