Cory... Nice looking fish! My grandmother would have liked that bullhead; she delighted in fishing for and eating the pesky little things. Congrats on the KS convention... it's nice to see the work of a fellow Kansan featured by Rick to begin a week.

I finished a fish tonight, so I get to share this week. Customer mount for a gentleman from Minnesota, 29 inch chum salmon, skin mount, artificial head. This is the first skin mount chum I have had the opportunity to do and new is always fun. Two photos, different angles/lighting.

I very much look forward to seeing this week's offerings unfold.

To one and all... Have a terrific Friday.

Congratulations Cory! Beautiful pieces...!!

Terry....great job on the chum. I'm envious! I've never done a chum in that color phase. Looks like fun, eh?

Dave....that turkey is terrific....wish I had the ability to do that!! Very cool !!

Wild Bill .....lakers are tough to pull off, at least for me. You did a really great job, looks very natural. Nice job on the spotting.

JohnC...cool catfish and brown!!  I assume that's a White river brown. WOW! 35yrs ago! John...we're gettin' old!!

Here's two customer skin mounts w/custom cast heads I just finished.

Lookin' forward to seeing this week's pics!!

Thanks to all!!  There are a lot of people to thank, and a lot of the help comes from here.  First I would need to thank the Kansas Association of Taxidermist.  With their guidance and the strong desire to educate young taxidermists and show the public that what can be done is artful, not just "stuffed", inspired me from my first competition.  Rick sure sent me through boot camp and taught me that learning fish is anatomy, anatomy and anatomy! (And I'm almost sure I'll never get it perfect!) LOL Cheesy  Gary Bruch wrote the article in Breakthrough that helped me cast the bullhead, fins also.  I've never felt my work compared to the best on here, as I see most of you guys seem untouchable.  But I keep trying.  Without you guys posting pics, showing different ideas and answering questions, I have no idea where I would be right now.  It sure seems unreal, but thanks again to everyone. Nice work everyone! Wild Bill... that's a really nice laker; it's spot for many that I have seen. I have yet to be able to do one, but hope to someday (maybe when Josh offers his blank available to the public).

Dave, thanks for the painful reminder that I live in the only state in the union withOUT turkeys.  Cry And my internal clock tells me that season is starting very soon in KS....

Doug... WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! to both of those. It takes me soooo long to take in all the detail you are able to impart to your fish... and then to consider how you probably did some of the stuff you do. One of the true- for me- of this thread is viewing the work of those individuals on here who show us how high the bar can be raised.

Everything is KILLER!! Gorgeous work. Cory...your stuff is awesome.
Doug, Your fish rock!...May I ask...did you use a frisket for the gold tipping on the back of that Brown?  It looks great! I sometimes use a plastic type screen to get a result (though not as nice) something like that.
