I bought a base that is suppose to be earth colored but it is black. It is made of styrafoam. Would it be possible to paint this a different color or cover it with rock base, and would either one stick well and not come off ? ALLAN

The best thing to do now would be to paint on yellow elmers glue and cover it with either dry dirt, or pea moss for Home Depot, let it dry..Shake off excess and then using white elmers glue mixed with water at a 50/50 ratio..Put in a spray bottle and mist the base and using a paint brush at the same time and dab the glue make sure its wet...Let dry. now you have a earth covered base..Now you can go back and hot glue leaves, sticks and rocks...You can also dab glue and but down leaves.. and you can push in your habitat materials..You can use sheet moss and glue it down, you can also use the Spray adhesive to lock down your habitat...
What is going on this base?Huh?Good luck. Bases By Rick...

I have a mounted Coyote with the right front paw up. If I glue the dirt down would it stay on for cleaning later , like with a vaccum?

if you wanted it to look like a rock you could get some fleck stone spray paint from just about anywhere. that would be the cheapest easiest way to do it. imo

the glue thing works   but for a rock i make my own you will fine the rock base  materal at mckinze its good  stough or you have a rock you like in the yard you can  mold it with silicone is real easy  cast in bondo or plaster pairs and use paint from wally world to air brush  water base paint  i use a/b foam as the start of my base and before it sets up i put my pre painted rocks in where i want along with sticks or stump that im useing for the critter to stand on  then foam it ! add yellow glue peat moss and pat it down with my hand to make it sticks good. add critter and fake plants done.. oh and if you havent tryed this go to homedopt and look for the thin strips of ceder us that unfinished for your out side border looks real real good     mark c
