Thanks Lisa!
This tutorial was great - I took the supplies up to Gatlinburg over the weekend and made my first Dream Catcher with my sister, brother in law and best friend. They might not be perfect, but we have a blast making them!

Trixi!  Those are beautiful!  EXCELLENT JOB!!  They ARE TOO PERFECT!!  Smiley  Thank you SO MUCH for sharing!!!!

Could you take & post pictures of each catcher?  I can't see the one in the middle very well.  I like them all a whole lot.  You did good work.  Smiley

Did you have any questions at all?  Is there anything I can do to help?

Lisa the instructions were perfect. The only real trouble we had was wrapping the brass ring - we finally ditched doing it solo and teamed up to wrap them a little faster - one person holding the ring and keeping the turns tight and the other person passing the leather through. It literally cut an hour off of the process. The middle one was made by my sister Courtney - I'll email her and ask her to send me a better pic. I took $75+ in supplies up there and I really wish I had bought more fur scraps, feathers and stone beads. Feathers were really hard to find - either they were too garish or they were too small. I went to Michaels, Hobby Lobby and Joanne and what you see was the best they had.

We altered the dream catcher idea a bit by taking tiny glass jars (I bought a pack of assorted sizes for $5) with cork lids and attached them. I told each person to fill them with a wish or something they loved. One person filled theirs with a little Gatlinburg dirt. I put 3 beads representing my two sisters and my mom in mine. It made them a little more personal.

My advice for making one - don't stress over your idea of perfection. Every one is different and that's what makes them special. Oh yeah, and keep that sinew tight!

YAYYYYYYYYY that y'all cooperated!!!  I LOVE THAT!!!  Smiley

I'm to the point that I just keep pretty much every bit of something I cut off of anything wild in hopes that some day I'll put it on a catcher.  I keep an eye out for the little hard sided travel suitcases that women used to put their "necessaries" in?  Make up etc from back in the 60's-70's?  They're a little bigger than lunch box size & you can pick them up for $3-5-7 at yard sales.  Smiley  I put the beads in baby food jars.  You can also get beads from yardsales...in the form of necklaces.  Just unstring & tada!  Totally unique bead collections.  The bits & pieces are expensive if you buy them from the store, but if you collect them over time, it's more budget friendly.  (I'm sorry I didn't mention that in the original tutorial.)

I love this!!!  As time goes on, people can put different things in the jars!  Wonderful!!

EXACTLY!!!! Smiley  Each & every one is absolutely the way it is supposed to be.  Thank you so much Trixi!  Smiley  You're awesome.  Smiley

Nice tutorial. I have not made any for a long time but just as a simple note for people to think outside the box I have a picture to share of one of my favorites I did a few years ago for a friend. Enjoy everyone.!

Coincidentally I have been really wanting to make a dream catcher lately. Good thing I can't sleep tonight and are browsing tutorials. I absolutely love these dream catchers you made. They are really beautiful. And I like how you put three different sized together like that. I am too tired to read through this whole tutorial, but I just might go out tomorrow and buy all the supplies needed and start making one soon. Smiley

I like the odd shapes too Kay.  Wink  That's part of why I put them on antlers & all sorts of other things.  Smiley

YAY April!  I make stuff late at night when I can't sleep too.  That's how I ended up with a few hundred catchers.  I've most of them away.  I made a new one recently as a present for a friend.  Smiley  Other than that, I'm just too dang busy to play with extra stuff lately.  Sad

Anyway...please post pictures when you make one okay April???  Smiley  Wink  Thank you.  Smiley
