just getting in to taxidermy but dont know where to start.

Start with books. Thats how I learned. To me its the best way. I learned from Russel Tinsley's Taxidermy guide. Old book but thats how I started.

It is a great book. It is also amazing to look at how much everything has changed over the years and how some hasn't.

Videos and books, and do what I did call some taxidermist and ask if they need help. I work for one for free just for the experience, oh and practice and practice
