base suggestions?

Hello to all! i have 2 mallards a male and female i mounted and im gonna put on a base with 8 sides, the base is  22"x15-1/2" wide , so my question is, since i havent done many ducks on bases before, whats the best material to use on the base, such as sand? or regular soil? am looking for suggestions to give this base and ducks a  nice setting since i havent done many like this before!  i appreciate any help. thanks to all

There are alot of things you can do with waterfowl. Maybe something with some shallow pools in a muddy scene with duckweed and some water foilage. I do alot of them in a mix of envirotex and dirt, it will give you a nice wet muddy look to your scene. You can create shallow pools, and show some depth by layering debri in the mix with some duckweed on the top of the pool. Just a thought.

Hey thanks for your suggestion im open to all suggestions for different base settings! i did forget to add ,if it makes a difference that the drake is standing with one wing open, and then hen is sitting..   thanks for helping people and i hope to hear of more suggestions for this base. THANKS
