Searched the archives and didn't see a reference pic that helped.........which color Mantle would be best for a lynx?  McKenzie has 2 choices that are the proper size...Gray or sandstone.......would like some opinions from anybody that may have worked on these.   My thought was the sandstone was to close in color to the cat itself...make sense....Huh/    Thanks in advance......Mike. Is the cat lying down, standing, sitting? If it's lying down then you are right that it may blend in to the sandstone and won't show off the cat as well as a base of a contrasting color. You could add some greenery or snow to seperate them visually.

If you're getting the base from McKenzie then just look through the catalog, at animals of the same color as your lynx, on the two different colored bases....should give you some clues. Smiley

The "sandstone" base I got from them had quite a bit of pink tones in it. It was a beautiful base but it was far fron being sand colored. Not the best cat in the world but you can see the "pink" in the rock in this pic. Kinda reminded me of granite, had little sparkles in it too. Very nice base, but it is heavy.
