Just put another base on this mount but can not seem to get it to right.
Need some opinions to get it looking better.
Thanks

I really like the way you have the dirt/mud comming off the base at the corners - its different.  Smiley

The thing I notice is that the mud/dirt on your pig is alot brighter than the dirt on the ground. Like he has been plonked into an area he doesnt come from.
Can you darken it up on the boar a little?

well i will be the devils advocate here then, i dont care for the dirt hanging over, it makes the base work look sloppy, again its just my opinion, but i think if a judge was to look at it he would see it the same way, maybe we can get a few on here who have judged to chime in with there opinion.  I agree the dirt on the hog is lighter, but if its supposed to be dried mud, it SHOULD be lighter.

Well I'd have to say the mud on the hog is dried unlike the saturated ground...Looks good, but I think you need some contrast in the mud itself. And the parts where the mud overhangs looks stenciled or too perfect....throw a little more off the side and not in the center........more toward one of the corners.

I've done hundreds of wildlife bases and I have to agree with Russ.  And, I've done some judging befor, and I've got to say, clean the dirt off the side.  Not only does it look sloppy and stenciled on, and you aren't going to like this, it looks stupid.  Dont hate me for that remark, just learn from it.

Yes it should lighter - but not a totally different colour.  Undecided
The mud on boar looks to have pink tones while the ground has brown.

Get the mud off the hog too. dry mud wont stick like that. I never saw one of my hogs encased in mud. That could be a nice looking hog cleaned up.

you're right Bill, the mud has definately got to go off the hog.  It would look so much better that way. It almost looks like it has Leprosy or something like that.  Clean it up Wildlife, and dont ever do that again!LOL
