Hello all, just wondering if , someday when I get a little extra money  Roll Eyes, there are any good taxidermy training schools, or personal instructors in or close to the great state of Kentucky?  There used to be one in Bardstown, KY, or so I hear, but I don't thinks it's around any longer...  I am interested in doing deer, turkey, squirrels, coyotes, foxes, bobcats, and raccoons.  That is the most common things around here to be mounted (these are my interests anyway, because I hunt them myself...)

Look at all the student work in Griffith's Big Game Training on page 2 in this section. I went to Mr. John's in March and he is a very good teacher. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Those three days learning with Mr. John was well worth the money.

Alicia, you have to look just a little bit, lol, its right under your nose! John Griffith has been posting pics of happy students all year, right in this category. I know he does mammals too, although we see more deer than anything. His students have done bears and bobcats along with gameheads. Why wouldnt you call him first?

Well, I did email Mr. Griffith the other day, and he emailed me back.  I will definitely keep him at the front of the line when I can get everything lined up for some professional training!   Wink

Alicia,
I just came back from Kentucky and Mr. Griffith's workshop. I can tell you it is worth every penny. John is a great instructor and not only shows you how to improve your work but goes the extra mile in showing you why .... I highly reccomend John's class. It does not matter if your a novice or a seasoned pro, John can show you things and work with you one on one and make you a better taxidermist. Any questions please feel free to mail me.

Good luck,
                  Lance!

John is an incredible instructor.  The training is one on one and devotes the entire time to you and your project and does not skimp on a thing.  You definately wont be disappointed if you choose that route!
