Was looking at Van Dyke's web site for fish replicas and am wondering if anyone can tell me the difference
between the Wynia "Premier Series" and the  Wynia "New Lake Country Replicas Series"  They are both listed as
Wynia Repros on the Van Dyke's site.  Is there a difference in quality?  I know that the Premier Series are very
nice- what about the new Lake Country Replicas Series?

thanks for any help

Gary B.

Gary, I believe the Lake country series is just their old line of blanks and the pemieres are the new ones that Lou and Tim are rolling out.I might be wrong but it's something I've heard.

I talked to whoever owns Lake country now and he said that the "premier" line replicas are already molded. He said you could receive them in about two weeks. The others had a longer wait time on them. So if your fish happens to be a premier size your in luck.

Yes, the Premier series blanks are rotationally cast and they can whip out a bunch of them in no time if they have to. I don't know if LCR keeps too many in stock though. You may have a fin or two to attach with the Premier Series and they are also offered unassembled whereas the Signature Series is ready to paint. Also, I don't think Lou Wynia is a part of LCR anymore and I believe he and his son are starting out with their own line. Slow to get going though from what I understand...

I posted a L.C ."premier" series pike blank on the "unofficial replica" post a few weeks back.  Though you can't tell on the picture posted, the only difference between that  and the regular...that I could tell anyway...was the scale pattern on the seams is now actually scales instead of that unsightly sand paper textured look the previous blanks show. I'm not real keen on their selection of eyes. I'm also not a fan of the fins being warped and wrinkled/curled. other than that....they are still better than most anything else I've come across that is readily available to an artist doing commercial work.

Hey all. To clarify, the "premeire" fish from lake country have NOTHING to do with Lou or Myself. We are in NO way afiliated with them any longer and will be at the nationals in Texas with OUR new line. you can call us at 320-532-5307. thanks Tim

I will definitely see ya in Texas in July.

Are the Van Dykes "Premier" series your old ones...they advertise them as "Wynias" on their website and I believe in their catalog.

Kerby...

All the LCR blanks are not produced by us, OR Painted by us, and the molds were never "purchased, traded for, given away, or legally siezed" from LOU. you can figure it out from there.Lou and i are starting over and for Wynia fish call or email Tim or Lou 320-532-5307, fish@wynia.org
