George you are corrct by idea but I see alot of logos. I have come to the conclusion that simple and plain does not mean squat. The logos of this simple design are great because of the product/company that it represents. And then to compete it a competitive market an easy identifiable clear logo is a must.
But I have seen many logos of this design used by samll co. and individuals and they have no such impact.
To me Nina logo is more of an identification tag (logo) shows individual personality and in the work she is in that seems to be what the logo should be portraying.
I don't know. I wish I could type whats in my head. Its gone now

Mad, I hear ya...Ninas illustration is a statement of herself and a product of her creativity, also advertising that she does that. When we advertise, however, unlike what she is drawing here, the very best advertising in block form, like yellow pages, as an example, is open space. A block all filled in with text and characters is "filled in" and often overlooked...even with margins. Yet a block with a very simple logo and only the pertanent text is most effective. Its been shown that in a busy format that open empty space actually attracts the eye!

Oh yes you are correct.
As far as the logo goes it must be decided in what formats you will be using it in. Yes a phone book or store shelves this is not the design wanted.

Beautiful Nina. I like the curve of the font, the way you put the inner webbing...all of it. Great job.

That's great. Just another example of what the insightful comments of the people on this site coupled with the creative power of an accomplished artist can accomplish.

Nina, I had to laugh at your comment, "I'm done". It's like the book I wrote. At some point, I'd had enough of the suggestions and corrections and changes I'd made on my mind and I no longer CARED what anyone else thought about it. You done good, girl.

I hate commenting like I did, as Im familiar with the subject, having drawn all my life. Yet I also know how I felt when I was being hired at Ninas age to create stuff too. I respect her creativity, and have never commented on her work or others, when I see things that could be easily corrected, out of respect for the artist. Only when asked do I make any suggestion, but again, I respect the person who created it, as that being their own!
