For casting fish I use a couple coats of wax, buffed in between coats. After a nice shine is obtained, I spray on a coat or two of PVA and the cast comes out just fine. I'd assume on your project you made a two piece mold so getting the cast out should work fine too.

Just get some polyester parafilm from WASCO. It is on page 202. I make bondo/resin cast from bondo/ resin molds.
You only need one coat and you are set, no multiple coats, waxing ,buffing or waiting!

I seal the mold with lacquer, then once its dry, JOHNSONS PASTE WAX. this is available at your local hardware strore. Its pure wax without acids, give it a coat allow it to dry then buff it out, repeat two or three times and parts will pop out of the mold. Just wax and buff each time you pull a part.
I feel after using PVA you loose some detail.

Why dont you just make a mold with latex or rubber ? Then you can do a one piece mold. Rick
