Recently someone wanted to know how to remove eyes in skull preparation.  They are easily and quickly removed if one follows the following steps.  In eye1, a flat blade screwdriver is inserted at the top of the eye between the eyeball and the orbit.  Push the screwdriver all the way to the rear of the eye socket (eye2), then pry down on the screwdriver and follow the backside of the eyeball.  As you push in and pry down simultaneously, the screwdriver will lift the eyeball out.  Then, pry up on the entire eyeball, and trim the fatty tissue that is securing it to the skull (eye3).  When totally removed, the eyeball will be intact (eye4), and the skull will have an empty eye socket (eye5).  This entire process takes just a few seconds per eye.

When I was caribou hunting in the Arctic, the Inuits would cut out the caribou eyes and eat them. They said they were quite tasty. I didn't try it though.
