how to keep the dirt on a base

what is the best way to keep dirt leaves etc on a base and not fall off. sometimes when the customer picks up a mount on a base the dirt blows off, falls off and still look real any help would be great john

You have to use glue. I spead the dirt onto a elmers white glue base and then spray the surface with half water half elmers glue solution from a good spray bottle. It dries clear and looks good.

for a lot of my customer stuff, the dirt is glued but I keep leaves and some grasses, sticks etc loose, so they can be replaced and look new every couple years, and if the customer find something cool they can add to it

You'd think that a "Master Taxidermist & Freeze Dry Expert" like yourself would know how to glue dirt down on a base. Or maybe you've just been telling more lies.
